Homemade Fruit Lollies

INGREDIENTS:

3 Mango fingers or 1/2 a mango

2 cups Berry smoothie mix (frozen raspberries, blackcurrants & banana)

1tsp Maca Powder

2 tsp honey

200ml – 300ml Water

METHOD:

  1. Put the mango, berry mix, honey & water into a blender and blend for about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Pour the mixture into ice lolly moulds & freeze until completely frozen
  3. Remove from the freezer & enjoy!

 

TIPS:

I used mango because it needed to be used up but you can use any fruit that you have in your fridge. The berry smoothie mix I  buy frozen in packs as they are so versatile to use and are cost effective as there is no wastage at all. Play around with different types of fruit to get different flavoured lollies. You may also need to add more water to get the right consistency dependant on how much fruit you add.

In this recipe I have added Maca powder because its highly nutritious and boosts energy levels, reduces blood pressure, improves your mood and is also great for balancing hormones and helping women through the horrible side affects of the menopause so these lollies are definitely not just for the kids!

If you are making green lollies, try adding some Spirulina. Spirulina has a high protein and vitamin content which makes it an excellent dietary supplement for people on vegetarian or vegan diets. Spirulina has antioxidant and inflammation-fighting properties, as well as the ability to help regulate the immune system.
