This South Indian Hot & Sweet Garlic Pickle (Achar) is normally eaten at lunchtimes as a side dish for rice but I like it with meats, salads, breads and as a side to a curry with a homemade roti. Incorporating garlic into your diet on a regular basis helps to lower blood pressure, cholesterol and sugar levels.
Contains: Garlic Cloves, Green Chilli, Ginger, Turmeric, Curry Leaves, Paprika, Chilli Powder, Asafoetida, Fenugreek, Mustard Seeds, Lemon Juice, Apple Cider Vinegar, Coconut Sugar
Nutritional Advice: Apple Cider Vinegar is a natural laxative and it can improve digestion. It lowers blood sugar levels, improves insulin sensitivity, lowers cholesterol, blood pressure and improves heart health. Turmeric is known as the ‘Golden Spice’ for it’s bright yellowy orange colour, this Indian spice has been used in Ayurvedic health and nutrition for thousands of years and is becoming increasingly popular in western countries. Colourful plant foods like these are good for our health because of their phytochemical properties (plant pigments). They are a great anti-inflammatory.
